PSA

Please, people, don't make rape jokes.

I was going to add "in front of strangers especially," but...no. Just don't do it.

It's not funny.

An Anxious Story Turned Good

I WAS going to make a post all about how I really, really was hoping I'd get into this one class I really wanted and was on the wait list for.

And then I got in!

So, whee!

I'm celebrating with a handful of George Clooney movies and may get a glass of wine to go with it.

We'll be back to bad news beans on Monday, I'm sure.

Oh, Dear

So has there ever been a fictional character who you like (and you're not sure why) and then someone tells you exactly why you like that character: because said character totally reminds you of someone you probably shouldn't be thinking about in the first place but you kind of just can't help yourself?

This always seems to be happening to me.

This is all I can Really Say Today

For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.

~Ted Kennedy.

RIP.

E! is Dumb

So I was at the movies this weekend.

And, no, I won't admit which movie I was seeing because it was embarrassing.

Anyway, we got there a little early and were, thus, stuck watching the slide show of commercials.

Well, one from E! said "JFK Jr. was the first only child of a president."

Um...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, I'm into politics so I especially know how false that is. But doesn't everyone? It isn't like Kennedy was one of the forgettable presidents! And, you know, Caroline is still alive and everything and not a hermit and stuff.

And...I...just...ugh...!

E! is dumb.

Hey, I Actually Did Something Awesome Today

Well, I felt badass, at least.

So 30 Rock season 2 was on sale for 15 bucks at Target and I figured that was pretty much the best deal I was going to get on it.

However, season 1 was not on sale and was going to cost 40 bucks. Together, paying 30 bucks per season isn't SO bad but, still, I figured I might find a better deal.

So I checked bestbuy.com and they were selling it for $25. Which, awesome! And since there is a Best Buy across from a Target near me, it would be the perfect solution.

So then I go to Best Buy and the sticker price is $40. And I was all "hmmm."

Now, here's where I'm thankful for my iPhone.

I pulled out my phone, went to bestbuy.com and pulled up the price listing on there.

To tell you the truth, I didn't think anything would come of it. I figured Best Buy was full of corporate bastards who wouldn't give a shit that it was cheaper online.

THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED, THOUGH!

Oh, no!

I went up to the cashier and was all "What's the price on this?" It came up as 40. So I showed her the listing I saw on my phone and she changed the price so fast.

It was awesome.

I felt like both a good Jew and a good person.

Why it was a Mistake to Wear a Dress Today

So, let me start by saying that I don't mind walking. Actually, I really like it, especially since I have shin splints (another story for another blog post that consists of me going "CURSE ALL THE SHINS!").

However, there are circumstances under which I hate walking and, to give blame elsewhere, the sun.

This includes:

-while wearing a dress and cute flats
-in the sun
-during the summer between the hours of 8am and 7pm
-when I don't know I'll be walking
-without my iPod
-while with my brother and father.

Here's the story:

Both headlights on my car are burnt out. So I wanted to take my car into our car guy today who is about a mile and a half from my dad's office. For various reasons, my brother and father also needed to take their cars in today.

Now.

There are plenty of people that could've driven with us and taken us back to the office.

To name a few:

-my sister
-my step-mother
-my dad's business partner
-anybody in the whole world who has an ounce of sympathy in their bones.

Seriously. There was no dire need for us to walk.

Enter my father who thought it would be nice for us to go on some family walk or some stupid bonding shit like that.

Sigh.

Now I'm at work and sweaty and gross and all I want is a shower.

But, hey, at least I got out of the office for an hour!

Woo?

In Which Chelsea has a Problem that Might Actually be Considered One

Does everyone have a bitch of a time when school starts up again?

And I don't mean the whole "summer's ending wah!" crap.

I'm talking about money and the school getting money so you can, like, attend.

It just seems like, every year, they have some issue with getting loans to go through and it is so damn annoying and makes me want to rip my hair out (well, not really. Sometimes, my hair is all I have).

Still, though.

For me, the beginning of school is all stupid long lines and stupid phone calls all so I can see if some loan was approved by the stupid school because it isn't like USC is going to give me any money.

And then, of course, after you've called one number, waited on hold for ten minutes, and finally gotten through, they tell you their office doesn't deal with your issue and you'll have to call another number where you will, of course, be cut off and have to call back again.

Is school really worth this?

It's an eternal question.

Two Things

First: The other night, I was thinking about getting a season pass on iTunes for "Mad Men."

I didn't.

And I'm punished by episode three leaking!

This is some sort of sign, I swear.

Or maybe I should be happy about the one leak I got.

...

Nah!

Second
: I went in to sign some papers for my fall internship at the HR headquarters. Since it is for a company in the entertainment industry, I had to sign a confidentiality agreement (that scared the shit out of me so much I won't even say who I'm working for on here) along with the other paper work saying that, basically, I wouldn't waste company time dicking around on the internet (like I'm doing right now at the job I'm actually being paid for. *cough*).

The best thing? As I left the conference room I see facebook up on some employee's computer.

It was very poetic.

Edition One of First World Problems

Someone who is likely to be fired tomorrow by Showtime posted the premiere for season 4 of "Dexter" on the showtime website.

Now, the premiere is originally supposed to air September 27.

Well, I just watched it on August 18 and it was holyshitamazing.

But that is besides the point.

Because now I'll have to wait until freaking October (the 4th, to be specific) to see a new episode and to find out what happens.

That sucks!

First post

I made a comment on a blog recently about "Mad Men." In it, I said I was "worried" about the season premiere because I'd watched the first two seasons on blu-ray and I was worried it wouldn't look as awesome on my non-HD AMC.

Someone responded, and I paraphrase, "This is what we call first world problems."

I said I called it "JAP (Jewish American Princess) problems."

But I prefer their response.

So, thank you, responder!

And welcome to my blog.
